About Little Straw Vineyards
Why it stands out
Little Straw Vineyards is one of West Kelowna's older winery stories, with the Slamka family planting their first vineyard in 1969 after moving from Czechoslovakia. The winery was established by the next generation in the 1990s, and its vineyard remains an important piece of the West Kelowna wine scene.
What to expect on a visit
The winery combines VQA tastings, vineyard history, and TULA Restaurant, where Indian cuisine is paired with estate wines. Since Kalala Organic Estate Winery took over Little Straw in 2021, the property has also moved toward organic certification and a greener next chapter.
Tour planning notes
Little Straw is a useful West Kelowna stop when guests want a heritage vineyard, food, and a family-to-family transition story. It works well as a lunch or dinner-oriented winery stop and offers a different cultural food pairing angle than many standard wine route stops.
